Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken thighs

  • 2 tablespoon flour or 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 large onion

  • 4 garlic cloves

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 glass of beer or white wine, 220 ml

  • Ground black pepper

  • 1 bay leaf

  • Salt

Directions

  • Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Set aside.
  • Cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Place in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the cornstarch or flour and mix the chicken with your hands to coat the chicken evenly.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large pan and sear the chicken in batches.
  • Transfer to the slow cooker.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the same pan sauté garlic and onion for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the beer and cook for 5 minutes over high heat.
  • Transfer to the slow cooker.
  • Add bay leaf, salt and pepper.
  • Cover with the lid and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Serve with some roasted potatoes or vegetables.
