Favourite cookbooks 2021 edition.

It was about time for me to make a selection of the best cookbooks I read during the last months.

Hope you like this little selection:

4-Edit-my favourite cookbooks 2021-byrootsandcook-made in india

1. Made in India by Meera Sodha

I was looking for a good homemade Indian recipe book last summer and I can tell you this is the one.

This cook is all you need to start learning about Indian cuisine. How to make real curries from scratch, delicious granma stews, amazing vegetarian dishes, real Indian food in your own home.

My favourite cookbook of 2021 🙂

There is also a Vegetarian version of the book that looks amazing. Here is the link if you want to have a look at it.

2. Salt Fat Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat

It is not a regular recipe book, although there are some recipes at the end of the book.

This is a recipe book for someone that loves cooking and wants to take the next step. A really easy to learn book about what salt fat acid and heat does to food, how to master it and transform the way you cook.

I think this book is so special as you will learn some basics that will transform your cooking style and take it to the next level.

For sure a great gift for someone that already loves cooking.

3. Flavour by Ottolenghi

I can not make a list of my favourite cookbooks 2021 without mentioning Ottolenghi.

Ottolenghi is more than a cook it is also a cooking style itself and his recipes are so different, unique, surprising and flavourful.

I really like all the vegetarian/vegan dishes as he always uses so many new vegetables so it is amazing to try new vegetables or to eat them in a new way.

For sure a great book for a gift.

4-Edit-my favourite cookbooks 2021-byrootsandcook-el arte de la fermentacion

4. The Art of Fermentation

Recipe and theory book about fermentation. To be honest I think it is the best book if you want to learn more about fermentation.

All the knowledge and recipes you need to start exploring this amazing world.
